Laos and Brunei Bolster Bilateral Ties with JCBC-4 Meeting
Strategic Partnerships Strengthened in Comprehensive Bilateral Talks
Laos and Brunei Darussalam have reinforced their strategic partnership during the 4th Meeting of the Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC-4), held in Vientiane on August 28-29, 2024. Dato Erywan Pehin Yusof, the Second Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brunei, visited Laos to co-chair the meeting with his Laotian counterpart, Mr. Saleumxay Kommasith. This visit underscores the deepening ties between the two nations, following the elevation of their relationship to a "Strategic Partnership" in 2023.
During the JCBC-4, both sides reviewed progress in various sectors including politics, economics, defense, education, and tourism since their last meeting in 2022. The discussions also highlighted recent high-level exchanges that marked the 30th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.
