Lao Women’s Union Enhances Parenting Program with Mobile Technology Support

Australia, USAID, and UNICEF Back Initiative to Empower Families Across 451 Villages
The Lao Women’s Union, in collaboration with UNICEF, the Government of Australia, and USAID, is launching a significant initiative to strengthen positive parenting practices across Laos. As part of the "Love and Care for Every Child (LCEC)" program, 135 community volunteers in 451 villages will be equipped with mobile devices to improve real-time data collection and feedback.

This initiative aims to empower parents and caregivers with the knowledge and tools necessary to support their children’s healthy development. The mobile devices will enable volunteers to closely monitor and evaluate the program’s impact, ensuring families receive timely guidance and resources.

At the handover ceremony, Ms. Thamma Phetvisai, Vice President of the Lao Women’s Union Central Committee, expressed gratitude for the international support, emphasizing that the devices will greatly enhance program effectiveness. Additionally, the program will develop a dedicated website for stakeholders to track progress and review feedback.

Representatives from Australia, USAID, and UNICEF reaffirmed their commitment to fostering strong families and resilient communities in Laos, highlighting the role of technology in driving sustainable development and improving early childhood care.
