Laos achieved a major milestone in its 2024 blood donation campaign, collecting 78,000 blood bags through the combined efforts of central and local levels. The central level contributed 33,300 bags, while local regions collected 44,700, reflecting the country’s commitment to maintaining a stable blood supply for healthcare.

Despite falling 6,404 bags short of its annual target due to severe flooding and extreme heat, provinces like Vientiane Capital, Luang Prabang, Xayaboury, Sekong, and Attapeu met their goals, showcasing effective community engagement.

Looking ahead, Laos has set an ambitious target of 80,400 blood bags for 2025. Efforts will focus on raising public awareness and overcoming past challenges to ensure an even stronger response to the nation’s healthcare needs.
