The groundbreaking ceremony for the Lao-Vietnamese Friendship Park took place on January 10, 2025, in Dan Xang Village, Saythany District, Vientiane. Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone and Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh led the event, joined by senior officials from both nations.

Covering three hectares, the park will feature statues of late Presidents Khaysone Phomvihane, Souphanouvong, and Ho Chi Minh, along with cultural carvings, a children’s playground, and green spaces. The project, a gift from Vietnam, celebrates the deep solidarity and cooperation between Laos and Vietnam.

Once completed, the park will serve as a vibrant space for relaxation, cultural exchange, and education about the two countries' shared history.
