Laos and Mongolia reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties during the 12th Joint Commission Meeting on Trade, Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation, held in Vientiane. Co-chaired by Laos' Minister of Health Dr. Bounfeng Phoummalaysith and Mongolia's Minister of Road and Transport Development Delgersaikhan Borkhuu, the meeting focused on deepening collaboration across key sectors.
Both nations highlighted the importance of enhancing economic, trade, and investment relations, with efforts to boost private-sector partnerships and agricultural cooperation, particularly in livestock and sheep product processing. Discussions also explored improving logistics through the Laos-China railway and the feasibility of direct flights to strengthen business and tourism links.
Concluding with a signed agreement outlining future cooperation goals, the meeting set the stage for continued partnership in areas such as infrastructure, public health, and cultural exchange. The 13th Joint Commission Meeting is scheduled to be held in Mongolia in 2027.
