Asia-Potash Industrial Park Begins Production and Expands Capacity

Milestone project set to boost Laos’ economy and industrial self-reliance.
The Asia-Potash International Intelligent Industrial Park officially launched Phase 1 production and expanded its capacity in Khammuan Province on November 16, 2024. The event was attended by Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, government officials, and senior executives from Asia-Potash International, marking a significant step forward in the development of Laos’ industrial sector.

The industrial park, a collaboration between the Lao government, Khammuan Province, and Asia-Potash International, focuses on potash mining, bromine production, chlor-alkali manufacturing, and limestone processing. Combined, these projects are expected to generate an annual production value of $500 million. The park incorporates cutting-edge technologies and sustainable practices to drive industrial growth and economic self-reliance in Laos.

Deputy General Manager Zheng Youye of Asia-Potash International highlighted the project’s importance as the first large-scale initiative of its kind in Laos. The industrial park aims to strengthen the nation’s economic base, advance high-tech industrial integration, and foster environmentally responsible development practices.
