The Lao government hosted a meeting in Vientiane to foster connections between Lao nationals living abroad and their homeland, promoting investment and socio-economic development under the theme "Love Your Home Country" (Huk Ban Keud). Organized by the Committee on Relations of Lao People Abroad and the Lao Front for National Development, the event was led by Deputy Prime Minister Saleumxay Kommasith, who emphasized the government's eagerness to welcome diaspora contributions at the village and community levels.

Discussions covered policies to ease residency and land ownership for the Lao diaspora, along with initiatives to strengthen cultural ties, maintain the Lao language, and support Buddhist communities. The event also marked the unveiling of the official logo, symbolizing national unity and cultural pride, which will be used throughout the event from 9 to 16 November.
