Allegations of Harassment at That Luang Festival Spark Outcry

Social media reports of misconduct at a haunted house attraction raise concerns over festival safety
Allegations of sexual harassment at the That Luang Festival’s haunted house attraction have ignited outrage online. Multiple women shared accounts of inappropriate physical contact, with one viral TikTok video revealing audio of a confrontation between visitors and staff dressed as ghosts. The video, which has amassed widespread attention, has prompted calls for stricter oversight of festival attractions.

One woman recounted being groped in the dark while staff prohibited flashlights, echoing similar experiences shared by others. Namtarn, a 24-year-old, recalled harassment at the same venue four years ago, urging authorities to investigate and enforce stricter regulations to protect visitors. Numerous other women have reported similar incidents, amplifying concerns about safety at public events.

Although social media platforms have fueled discussions and calls for action, no formal complaints or measures have been reported yet. The allegations cast a shadow over the That Luang Festival, raising urgent questions about accountability and the need for safer practices at major cultural events.
