The Lao Art Museum officially opened in Nonsa-at Village, Saythany District, Vientiane, on January 5, marking a significant milestone in Laos’ cultural preservation journey. The grand ceremony, attended by Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone and other dignitaries, coincided with New Year celebrations and aligns with the "Visit Laos Year 2024" campaign.

Founder Phisith Sayathith emphasized the museum’s role as more than just a gallery, describing it as a testament to Laos' rich cultural identity. The museum showcases traditional woodcarvings, modern artistry, and sustainability initiatives, serving as both an educational hub and a tourism attraction.

Initially conceived in 2018, the museum has grown into a vital space for cultural preservation, creativity, and artistic exchange. It is expected to generate job opportunities, support local businesses, and inspire future generations of Lao artists, while strengthening Laos’ global cultural presence.
