French Chamber of Commerce and Industry Officially Inaugurated in Laos

The French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Laos (CCIL) was officially inaugurated in Vientiane on November 25, marking a significant step in strengthening the economic relationship between France and Laos. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by Stéphane Gil, President of the CCIL, Jean-Pierre Grzelczyk, board member of the Chamber and Director of Savan Logistics, Siv-Leng Chhuor, Ambassador of France to Laos, and François Corbin, Special Representative for Economic Relations with ASEAN from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The event highlights the growing partnership between the two nations in the areas of trade, business, and economic cooperation.

She also highlighted the Chamber’s vital role in supporting both French and Laotian businesses. François Corbin reaffirmed the full support of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, noting the strategic importance of ASEAN for French businesses and underscoring the Chamber’s role in fostering deeper economic ties with Laos.
The inauguration ceremony also recognized Jean-Pierre Grzelczyk for his leadership in reviving the CCIL and bringing it to life. The new Executive Secretary of the Chamber, Mrs. Daramany Pathammavong, was introduced, and she will play a key role in developing the Chamber’s activities. The event saw strong participation from French Foreign Trade Advisors (CCE) and other economic stakeholders, marking the beginning of a new chapter in Franco-Laotian economic relations.
