Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone of Laos emphasized the importance of maintaining a close relationship between the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and the Lao News Agency (KPL) during a reception on November 20. The meeting, which took place in Vientiane, was part of a working visit by a VNA delegation led by General Director Vu Viet Trang.

At the meeting, Trang highlighted the long-standing cooperation between the two agencies, noting their shared history of supporting each other’s roles in national development and communication. Both VNA and KPL have been implementing a Professional Cooperation Agreement for the 2022-2025 period, which includes exchanging information, providing professional support, and coordinating on significant events and holidays between Vietnam and Laos.

Prime Minister Siphandone expressed appreciation for the strong collaboration between the two news agencies, which plays a key role in fostering the special relationship between the two countries. He urged both agencies to focus on their crucial tasks, such as promoting national policies and addressing misinformation, particularly as they prepare for the important events in 2025. He also stressed the need for the agencies to continue sharing information that strengthens the friendship and cooperation between Laos and Vietnam.

Trang thanked the Lao government and Prime Minister Siphandone for their continued support and reaffirmed VNA's commitment to furthering cooperation with KPL for mutual growth and development.
