Sofitel Luang Prabang is celebrating International Women’s Day with the “HERitage” exhibition, showcasing the artistry of Lao women in handicrafts. Running until 31 March, the event also marks the launch of La Boutique, a retail space offering locally sourced products. Visitors can purchase intricate textiles, handmade jewelry, and artisan crafts, directly supporting Lao artisans and preserving cultural traditions.

Generations of Lao women have kept traditional crafts alive, particularly in weaving. The exhibition features notable artisans, including Viengkham Nanthavongdouangsy and Boutsaya Viengviseth, whose works blend heritage with modern design. The initiative aligns with Sofitel Luang Prabang’s commitment to responsible tourism, cultural education, and supporting local businesses.

Hotel General Manager Andrew Gianfranco emphasized plans to offer cultural tours, connecting visitors with local artisans and historians. Located in a former French governor’s residence, Sofitel Luang Prabang continues to honor Lao heritage through immersive experiences and sustainable partnerships.
