Thong Nhat Secondary School in Khammouane province represents the strong bond between Vietnam and Laos by offering courses in Vietnamese language, culture, and history. Founded in 2024 by the Vietnamese Association in Khammouane, the school covers nearly 3,500 square metres and boasts 19 rooms, including well-equipped classrooms, a library, and other supporting facilities.

With a staff of 28 and an enrollment of 355 students, the school conducts Vietnamese language classes four times a week, alongside extracurricular activities that encourage cultural exchange. Almost half of the students are of Vietnamese heritage, while the remainder consists of Lao learners enthusiastic about discovering Vietnamese culture.

Looking to the future, the Vietnamese Association in Khammouane plans to broaden the school’s scope and improve its educational standards, ensuring it continues to play a vital role in strengthening the cultural connections between the two countries.
