Vietnamese Ambassador Celebrates Lao Teacher's Day with Bilingual School Visit
School praised for its role in fostering Lao-Vietnamese bilingual education
Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos, Nguyễn Minh Tâm, visited the Nguyễn Du Lao-Vietnamese bilingual school in Vientiane on Friday, in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Lao Teacher's Day. During the visit, Tâm praised the school for its educational achievements and its role in fostering strong Lao-Vietnamese ties through bilingual education.
Tâm emphasized the importance of the school's efforts in training students who can speak both Lao and Vietnamese, while also urging teachers to continue innovating in their teaching methods. He commended the school’s successes in competitions and highlighted the importance of creating a future generation that is both skilled and virtuous.
The ambassador presented a donation of 20 million LAK (over US$900) to support the school's activities related to the preservation and development of the Vietnamese language, expressing his hope that students and teachers will continue to act as ambassadors of the Vietnamese language in Laos.
