On July 26 in Vientiane, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Saleumxay Kommasith co-chaired the ASEAN-Australia Foreign Ministers' Meeting and led the delegation in meetings with several dialogue partners, including China, New Zealand, Japan, the EU, Republic of Korea, India, Russia, the UK, and Canada.

As the coordinating country for ASEAN-Australia cooperation (2021-2024), Laos hosted the ASEAN-Australia Foreign Ministers' Meeting alongside Australian Foreign Minister Mrs. Penny Wong. They adopted a new action plan (2025-2029) to strengthen their comprehensive strategic partnership and urged swift negotiations to establish the ASEAN-Australia Centre. Laos handed over its coordinating role to Indonesia.

At the ASEAN-China meeting, participants celebrated 2024 as the year of people-to-people exchanges and adopted a joint statement on cooperation in humanitarian explosive disposal. The ASEAN-New Zealand meeting supported a summit in Malaysia in 2025 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their cooperation. The ASEAN-Japan meeting accelerated the establishment of a public health emergencies centre. Other meetings with the EU, Republic of Korea, India, Russia, the UK, and Canada reviewed cooperation plans and future directions, highlighting the importance of strategic partnerships.
