At the invitation of President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Thongloun Sisoulith is paying a State Visit to Mongolia on June 11-12, 2024.

On June 12, 2024, President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, First Lady Bolortsetseg Luvsandorj, President Thongloun Sisoulith, and First Lady Naly Sisoulith planted trees at the "Mongol Culture Park" in Gorkhi-Terelj National Park, located on the outskirts of Ulaanbaatar.

Recognizing the vulnerability of their landlocked countries to climate change, the Presidents of Mongolia and Laos emphasized the critical importance of international cooperation in addressing global challenges such as desertification and environmental degradation. The two Heads of State reaffirmed their commitment to contributing to these areas.

During the visit to the National Park, President Thongloun Sisoulith and First Lady Naly Sisoulith experienced the nomadic lifestyle and customs, enjoying a mini Naadam Festival along with mounted archery and folk-art performances.
