Oudomxay Province Welcomes Over 113,000 Tourists in First Half of 2024

Tourism Efforts Yield $6.5 Million in Revenue
In the first half of 2024, Oudomxay Province saw a surge in tourism, attracting over 113,000 visitors and generating US$6.5 million in revenue. This impressive growth was reported by Governor Bounkhong Larchiemphone last week.

The province has made significant strides in improving its tourism services, including upgrades to hotels, guesthouses, resorts, restaurants, and tourist attractions. Notably, the Namkat Yora Pa Resort has achieved a 5-star certification and houses the Namkat Yora Pa Biodiversity Museum, a unique facility that is the first of its kind in Laos and the third worldwide.

Additionally, the Charming Lao Hotel and Le Grand Pak Bang Resort have been recognized as ASEAN Green Standard accommodations, underscoring their commitment to sustainable practices. Plans are also underway for the construction of the Udomxay Landmark Hotel, with a contract already signed and construction set to begin soon.

To further promote tourism, Oudomxay organized a traditional ethnic festival as part of the Visit Laos Year 2024 celebrations. The province offers a rich array of natural, historical, and cultural attractions, all of which have been developed to enhance the visitor experience.
