New Dormitory for Mother and Newborn Hospital Opens in Vientiane
Modern Facility Enhances Healthcare for Mothers and Newborns
The Mother and Newborn Hospital in Vientiane inaugurated a new special dormitory on July 6. The ceremony was attended by Minister of Health Bounfeng Phoummalaysith, the President’s spouse Naly Sisoulith, hospital director Sivanxay Chanthavongsack, and other officials.
Sunatta Litpanya, head of Litpanya Research Design-Construction Co., Ltd., highlighted that the construction aligns with the Ministry of Health’s development plan, adhering to governmental guidelines and addressing current societal needs.
The three-story building integrates with existing hospital facilities and measures 32.6 meters wide by 59 meters long. It includes 50 specialized rooms: two VIP luxury rooms, four luxury suites, 21 VIP rooms, and 23 Deluxe rooms. Additional facilities include a nurse’s room, 24-hour nurse reception, newborn bathroom, medication room, administrative office, restaurant, coffee shop, and minimart. The building is equipped with advanced medical, electrical (with backup power), elevator, CCTV, Internet, water supply, and wastewater management systems.
The project, with a total investment of 144.6 billion kip (approximately 6.4 million USD), was funded 70% by the company and 30% by the hospital, which contributed the land. The construction spanned three years, and the joint business operation term is set for 25 years.
