The Lao government is gearing up for the 5th nationwide population and housing census slated for 2025, with preparations in full swing across the country. Anticipated to cost $22.2 million, the census aims to gather crucial data for informed policy-making and development initiatives. Minister of Planning and Investment, Mr. Khamjane Vongphosy, highlighted the importance of this budget for various survey aspects, including data collection and dissemination. With support from development partners like the UNFPA, USAID, DFAT Australia, and the World Bank, alongside equipment contributions from the Chinese government, the nation is set for a comprehensive census operation.
