The Joint Development Bank (JDB) has introduced a new seamless payment platform aimed at providing customers with more convenient services. The launch event took place at the Lao Plaza Hotel on July 1, with Chairman of the Board Mr. Vilay Siphaphone, senior managers, representatives from the Bank of the Lao PDR, and invited guests in attendance.

JDB’s Managing Director and CEO, Mr. Sakhone Yorphanxay, highlighted the platform's importance, explaining that it will allow users to make payments by scanning QR codes and using cards at retail stores or online. The system is designed to integrate with online stores, service platforms, and Fintech companies.

The new services on the JDB Yes Mobile Banking app include QR scanning to pay for Lao-Thai service fees at four major banks and booking Lao Airlines tickets for domestic and international routes.

Deputy Director General of the Payment Systems Oversight Department, Lammone Simmalaivong, praised JDB’s executives and experts for developing this modern electronic payment system, which saves users time and money.

During the ceremony, awards were given to stores participating in the JDB project. Five stores received iPhone 15 ProMax smartphones and cash prizes worth five million kip.

JDB continues to expand its role as a payment hub within ASEAN and internationally, with money transfer capabilities to over 100 countries. The bank remains committed to developing fast, modern services with a strong focus on customer needs, contributing significantly to national development.
