Focus on AI and digital integration for sustainable growth
Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone underscored the vital role ASEAN business leaders play in advancing the digital economy, highlighting global trends such as artificial intelligence (AI) during the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (ABIS) 2024 opening ceremony in Vientiane on October 8. He emphasized the need for ASEAN to strengthen its position in global markets by embracing digital innovation and fostering sustainable development.

As ASEAN chair for 2024, Prime Minister Sonexay reaffirmed the importance of promoting connectivity and integration across the region. He noted that Laos is working to improve infrastructure, education, and regulatory frameworks to attract more investment and support the digital economy.
