During a local reception on June 5 for Khamphan Phommathat, head of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee's Inspection Commission and the Central Anti-Corruption Commission of Laos, and President of the Lao State Inspection Authority, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Nguyen Van Nen, reaffirmed the city's commitment to strengthening the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

Nen emphasized that the municipal Party Organisation, authorities, and residents prioritize consolidating and enhancing the special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation with Lao localities. The city actively promotes economic exchanges, investment opportunities, and trade promotion activities to introduce local products to each other's markets.

Additionally, Ho Chi Minh City is fostering tourism and people-to-people exchanges, supporting Lao officials and students, and facilitating interaction between various organizations and agencies.

Phommathat described the relationship between Ho Chi Minh City and Lao localities as a model of bilateral friendship and solidarity. He expressed Laos’ desire to deepen and strengthen this relationship, particularly in sharing best practices in inspection and anti-corruption efforts.

The meeting concluded with discussions on achievements and challenges in these areas, with both sides aiming to learn from each other’s experiences.
