The Vietnamese northern province of Nam Dinh and Oudomxay province in Laos have agreed to strengthen collaboration in education and human resources training. This agreement was reached during a meeting of education officials from both provinces held in Nam Dinh on June 7.

According to Deputy Director of Nam Dinh’s Department of Education and Training, Nguyen Van Thuan, the province has helped train 13 Lao students since 2018 under MoUs signed in 2017 and 2018. These students have been provided with accommodation and support, reflecting Vietnam’s special attention to foreign students.

Cao Xuan Hung, Director of the provincial Department of Education and Training, stated that Nam Dinh will continue to improve facilities, teaching equipment, and dormitories to ensure the best learning and living environment for international students. The province also plans to promote cultural and academic exchange activities, including Vietnamese language courses and extracurricular activities, to help Lao students integrate better and improve their communication skills.

For the 2024-2025 academic year, Nam Dinh plans to offer training classes both online and offline for Oudomxay’s managers and teachers on management and teaching.

Somsack Souphlay, Director of the Department of Education and Sports of Oudomxay, expressed hope that Nam Dinh will continue to support the Lao province in training undergraduate and postgraduate students. He also emphasized the importance of organizing training courses and professional exchanges on management and scientific research.
