French Ambassador Visits Holiday Inn & Suites Vientiane to Promote Energy Efficiency

Collaborative Efforts between Schneider Electric and Local Partners to Boost Sustainability in Laos
On 28 November, French Ambassador to Laos, Siv Leng Chhuor, visited the Holiday Inn & Suites Vientiane, an InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) property, to explore the hotel’s newly installed electrical system. The visit showcased the collaboration between Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy management and automation, and several local partners, including Comin Asia, a key regional player in providing electrical and energy solutions.

Schneider Electric specializes in advanced technologies that enhance energy efficiency, focusing on electrification, automation, and digital solutions for industries, infrastructure, data centers, and homes. The company’s efforts, along with the French embassy’s support, aim to improve electricity efficiency in Laos, with the Holiday Inn Hotel serving as a model for these innovations.

During the visit, Ambassador Chhuor toured the hotel, guided by the Cluster Director of Food and Beverage at Crowne Plaza Vientiane. The tour highlighted key areas such as the gym, Air Handling Unit (AHU) room, and the technical rooms for low and medium voltage systems. The newly upgraded systems are part of a broader initiative to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability in the region.

Ambassador Chhuor expressed her satisfaction with Schneider Electric’s successful implementation in Laos, reaffirming her support for French businesses and the France-Laos Chamber of Commerce. She emphasized the importance of economic ties between Laos and France, noting the significant contributions of French entrepreneurs to the Lao economy.
