During a meeting in Vientiane, Chinese Premier Li Qiang expressed China's readiness to work with Laos on key national interests, following ASEAN summits. He emphasized the importance of the Laos-China relationship in China's neighborhood diplomacy.

Laos President Thongloun Sisoulith reaffirmed his country's support for China's core interests, including Taiwan, Xinjiang, and Hong Kong. The two nations plan to strengthen cooperation through the Belt and Road Initiative, particularly on the Laos-China Railway, and enhance cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
