ANA Foods Expands Import of Lao Bananas for Japanese Market

Laos strengthens trade ties with Japan through expanded banana exports and cultural cooperation.
ANA Foods Co., Ltd. has announced plans to import approximately one million boxes of bananas from Laos in 2025, a significant increase from the 700,000 boxes imported in 2024. The bananas, sourced from Pakxong district in Champassak province, will be transported via Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, under an expanded logistics strategy.

Highly praised for their sweetness and quality, the bananas symbolize growing economic collaboration between Laos and Japan, further bolstered by the upcoming 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations in March 2025. Beyond trade, ANA Foods has supported the Lao-Friend Hospital in Luang Prabang through donations, showcasing its commitment to fostering mutual goodwill.

Since 2021, ANA Foods has been importing bananas from Laos, addressing supply challenges in traditional markets like the Philippines. The company’s involvement in Lao cultural festivals and its ISO 9001 certification underscore its dedication to quality and cultural exchange, solidifying Laos' position as a key supplier for Japan's growing demand for premium bananas.
