All Aboard the Guiyang-Laos Tourist Train: A New Era in Cross-Border Travel

Luxury Rail Service to Forge Stronger Tourism and Cultural Bonds
Prepare to embark on an unforgettable journey as the Guiyang-Laos tourist train makes its inaugural run on May 8, marking a significant milestone in enhancing tourism and cultural connections between China and Southeast Asia.

This new rail service, set to commence its maiden voyage from Guiyang city in China’s Guizhou province to the capital of Laos, Vientiane, is poised to revolutionize travel across the region.

Featuring state-of-the-art amenities such as shower facilities, charging stations, and onboard entertainment options like karaoke and coffee shops, the train promises passengers a lavish and comfortable travel experience.

Travel enthusiasts in Guizhou can now book the eight-day excursion through local travel agencies or digital platforms, with the itinerary encompassing must-visit Lao destinations including Vientiane, Vang Vieng, Luang Prabang, and the breathtaking Kwang Si Waterfall.

In addition to catering to visitors from Southeast Asia, the train service will introduce tailored itinerary options to explore the scenic beauty and cultural richness of Guizhou.

This venture marks a significant expansion in China's rail connectivity, with Guizhou becoming the third province, following Yunnan and Beijing, to offer trains connecting to the Laos-China railway system.

Recent data from the Laos-China Railway Company underscores the positive impact of cross-border trains, with approximately 150,000 tourists from 87 countries and territories and over 8 million tonnes of goods transported since April 2023. This underscores the role of the railway in driving tourism and economic growth along the Laos-China corridor.
