Restoring Power: Lao Electricity Corporation's Efforts After Storm

Communities Unite Amidst Power Outages
In the wake of a powerful storm that swept through Laos on May 3, 2024, leaving a trail of destruction, the Lao Electricity Corporation has swiftly mobilized efforts to restore power to affected areas. With reports of fallen trees, broken wires, and collapsed power poles, communities have been plunged into darkness, prompting urgent action from authorities.

Despite the challenges posed by the storm, progress is being made in restoring electricity to impacted regions. In outlying areas such as Chaithani and Pak Ngum districts, significant restoration efforts have already been achieved, with completion percentages ranging from 50% to 97%. Meanwhile, within urban centers like Xaysetha and Sisattanak districts, restoration rates are equally impressive, hovering around 90% to 95%.

The Lao Electricity Company has assured residents that every effort is being made to expedite repairs and ensure a swift return to normalcy. Hotline number 1199 has been made available for residents to report any ongoing outages, with the company expressing regret for any inconvenience caused.

As communities rally together amidst the aftermath of the storm, the resilience and determination of the Lao people shine through. Despite the challenges, the spirit of unity and collaboration prevails as efforts to restore power continue unabated.
