The 2nd Korean Ambassador's Lao Baseball Championship, held at the KM16 Baseball Stadium in Vientiane in December, was a testament to the growing camaraderie between the Republic of Korea and Laos. The event, graced by Ambassador Jung Yung Soo and Deputy Minister of Education and Sports Kingmano Phommahaxay, showcased the shared passion for baseball and the strides made by the Lao National Baseball Team.

Ambassador Jung Yung Soo expressed delight over Laos' progress in international baseball tournaments, particularly its commendable performance in the Indo-China Peninsula tournament earlier this year. Reflecting on Laos' journey from relative obscurity in the baseball world to its current 47th position in the global rankings, he attributed this success to the dedication and hard work of Lao baseball players, supported by collaborative efforts between Laos and Korea.

Deputy Minister Kingmano Phommahaxay emphasized the significance of the championship in fostering friendship and sharing experiences. He commended the Lao National Baseball and Softball Federation for their tireless efforts in promoting baseball development in Laos and acknowledged the recent achievements of the Lao National Baseball Team at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.

The championship, held in celebration of the 48th anniversary of Lao PDR and the National Day of the Republic of Korea, served as a platform for strengthening bilateral ties and advancing sportsmanship between the two nations.
